Curacao: An Island of Contrasts

Curacao: An Island of Contrasts

Curacao Vacation Rentals – Luxury Villa Rentals Curacao

Curacao may not be well known for its beaches, but that’s only because they are secluded and hidden along the island’s southwestern coast. A true gem of the Caribbean Sea, this unique Dutch island simply oozes magnificence.

The real appeal of Curacao is the unique combination of European architecture and Caribbean charm. A visit to Willemstad is a feast for the eyes, as colorful yellow and orange Dutch buildings line the azure waterfront. In addition, the island combines the serenity and seclusion of its hidden beaches with the explosive energy of nightlife in the city. Salinja District is known for being the hub of nighttime entertainment in Curacao.

Curacao also stands out for its unique landscapes– stately cacti stand on rocky cliffs overlooking the sea, as modern cruise liners sail past vintage Dutch buildings. A trip to this uncommon island is unforgettable, and truly magical.

The Best Time To Enjoy Luxury Villa Rentals in Curacao

Like the other ABC islands (Aruba and Bonaire) Curacao is sheltered from hurricanes. It lies well outside the Atlantic Hurricane Belt. Scientists estimate that big storms hit the island only every 28.8 years.

December through April are the most popular months to visit this island. Keep in mind that it may be more difficult to book accomodations during this period, so plan ahead and reserve your villa early!

From May to November, you’ll find lower prices and less crowds. Although it rains more frequently during these months, Curacao experiences much less rain and storms than many other Caribbean islands. In addition, it rains more often at night than during the day, so you’ll rarely have to cancel activities because of rain showers.
